When you find yourself with someone that loves the theatre with the passion and conviction like that of Adán Black, you have two options: Either you run away or you begin to feel the same and you allow him to take you by the hand, in confidence, fully committed and humble.Along this path you begin to unlearn what you have learned, you are less fearful of leaving theory to a side, you stop worrying and you begin to work with honesty and sincerity, you start to value your work, you realize that you no longer want to show off, you are humble and you believe, you allow yourself to play (a lot) and to enjoy (always), above all else, this art of ours and it’s tremendous power. I am learning to liberate myself, to respond as I feel moment to moment, to accept my vulnerability, my doubts, my fears, my frustration or my shame, and to know that in all my faults therein are the strengths and power of my own individual truth. To be, to stay present, breathe deeply, look into the eyes of my fellow actors and say the text, as is, without any other objective than to be myself. Adán has shown me to be myself, to work hard, to raise my voice and to be heard.
